TRSB is seeking a senior IT systems administrator, cloud computing, to help modernize its technology environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will act as a senior technical advisor and key resource person as we migrate our internal data centre infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, providing strategic direction while ensuring that our existing systems remain stable, secure, and up to date.
Your mission:
- Ensure the firm’s IT infrastructure remains seamlessly available and secure, both locally and in the cloud
- Develop and carry out plans to migrate the firm’s local infrastructure to Azure
- Play a key decision-making role in technology and IT infrastructure issues
- Act as technical lead and supervise one or two IT system administrators
- Design and maintain network and system performance, capacity, and availability dashboards
Your daily routine:
Infrastructure and Systems
- Manage all IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, virtualization, networks, firewalls, mobile devices, security solutions, etc.)
- Manage all Microsoft environments, including:
- Active Directory/Entra ID
- File servers
- MS SQL databases
- IIS-based web applications
- Install, configure, update, and upgrade all hardware and software components
- Manage backup procedures, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Cloud Computing and Azure Migration
- Design the target architecture in Azure and plan the migration to cloud computing
- Analyze existing environment to ensure that cloud resources are adequate for business needs
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Azure services (virtual machines, storage, networks, databases, service applications)
- Implement monitoring, logging, and cost optimization tools in the cloud environment
- Apply best practices for hybrid and cloud environment security
Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise, coach, and support one or two IT system administrators
- Ensure knowledge transfer and contribute to ongoing IT practices improvement
- Participate in change management and cross-functional technology projects
- Manage supplier relationships and IT-related purchasing
- Draft and update technical documentation
Support and Operations
- Provide escalated technical support to internal and external users
- Provide support outside of regular business hours on a rotating basis
You will need:
Technical Knowledge
- High proficiency in Windows environments (Windows 11 Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, GPO, Entra ID, Office 365, etc.)
- Broad familiarity with virtualization (VMWare vSphere)
- Extensive knowledge of backup and storage infrastructures and monitoring tools
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP networks and security equipment (firewalls, VPNs)
- Significant experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments, including:
- Infrastructure migration to Azure
- Capacity sizing and management
- Cloud security, monitoring, and logging
- Good understanding of hybrid environments (local/cloud)

This position may be ideal for you if you:
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in network management or equivalent training
- Hold Azure certifications (Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, etc.)
- Have at least seven (7) years of experience in systems administration
- Have led or participated in IT migration, modernization, or transformation projects
- Are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
- Have proven customer service skills
- Are available outside of regular business hours
- Have good organization and priority-setting skills
- Are comfortable in roles combining technical, strategic, and supervisory responsibilities
