TRSB is seeking a Director of Product Innovation to manage our organization's entire product strategy by driving product innovation to deliver consistent language experiences across all markets and audiences in a cost-effective manner. This role entails working closely with cross-functional teams, including the executive team, operations, sales, engineering and development to define and execute the company's product vision. The Director of Product Innovation bridges the business strategy and the technical aspects of product development, ensuring that products meet customer needs and align with the organization's goals.
Your daily routine:
- Product Strategy and Vision: Define and align the product strategy with the overall business objectives by collaborating with stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to develop a long-term product vision.
- Product Development and Roadmap: Work closely with Development and Engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery while maintaining a clear product roadmap.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences and competitive landscapes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including the executive team, sales, operations, marketing, development and engineering, to ensure effective communication, alignment, and coordination throughout product development.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track product performance, customer satisfaction and market success. Analyze data and feedback to continually iterate and improve product offerings.
You will need:
Technical Skills: Broad expertise in language technology including, but not limited to:
- Translation management systems (TMS)
- CAT tools (RWS product suite, memoQ, Phrase, etc.)
- Machine translation (NMT and LLMs)
- Automated post-editing tools
- Machine translation quality evaluation (MTQE)
- Retrieval augmented generation (RAG)
Business Skills:
- Strong business understanding of the translation and localization industry to align product strategies with overall business objectives.
- Ability to analyze market data and conduct financial evaluations
- Keen sense of market dynamics to make data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas, negotiate with stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Ability to communicate the product vision, strategies and performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
This position may be ideal for you if you have:
5-10+ years in the Localization and/or Content Management Industry in roles involving:
- Translation workflows: Knowledge of end-to-end localization pipelines (TMS, CAT tools, post-editing, linguistic QA, terminology management)
- Content management systems (CMS): Experience integrating with platforms like Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, WordPress or headless CMSs
- LSP business models: Familiarity with how translation services are packaged, priced and delivered in both B2B and B2C contexts
- Regulatory or industry verticals (optional): Such as life sciences, finance, or legal where multilingual content compliance is key
Experience implementing or managing AI capabilities, such as:
- Generative AI: Applied use of tools like OpenAI, Claude or custom LLMs for instant translation, summarization or linguistic generation
- Machine Translation (MT): Understanding of MT engines (e.g., Google, DeepL, Systran), post-editing workflows and MT quality evaluation (e.g., BLEU, MQM)
- AI automation: Experience automating content intake, tagging, routing or translation memory updates using AI
- AI frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, Azure, OpenAI API or similar AI toolkits.
- Data lifecycle management: Familiarity with model fine-tuning, prompt engineering and data curation specific to linguistic datasets
Strong Product Management Fundamentals
- Own and execute product roadmaps: From MVP to scalable AI-enabled solutions
- Lead cross-functional teams: Including engineering, linguists and UX
- Gather customer insights: Particularly around pain points in global content workflows
- Prioritize AI vs. manual trade-offs: Based on ROI, performance metrics and feedback loops
