DESKTOP PUBLISHING (DTP) COORDINATOR TECHNICIAN

TRSB is looking for support staff for its DTP team.

AS A DTP COORDINATOR TECHNICIAN, YOUR DAILY ROUTINE WOULD CONSIST IN:

• Supporting the team leader in managing preparation and post-processing requests.
• Receiving and analyzing requests and determining client needs.
• Assigning work to the appropriate resources and coordinate projects assigned to freelancers.
• Act as a contact person for the support team when requests require more complex intervention.
• As needed, provide preparation, post-processing or layout services for simple documents within the required timeframe while complying with client requirements/preferences.

THIS POSITION MAY BE IDEAL FOR YOU IF YOU:

• Hold a college degree in office computing or computer graphics and have at least three years of relevant experience in a similar position within a service company.
• Are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Have in-depth knowledge of typography standards, techniques, style sheets and models.
• Can easily assimilate new technology.
• Have a positive attitude and proven customer-service skills.
• Can manage emergencies and priorities.
• Are able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Have keen organizational skills and a sense of accountability.
• Are flexible and comfortable working in a team.
• Haven proven communication and negotiating skills.

ASSETS

• Advanced or intermediary desktop publishing skills.
• Basic knowledge of translation tools (Trados Studio).
• Basic knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator software.
• Good overall knowledge of the project production cycle within a translation firm.
• Challenge-driven attitude and a keen interest in continuous development.
• Bilingualism (required to process request from anglophone clients).
