TRSB would like to congratulate the students who handily won the Cup at the Translation Games, held in Toronto from March 8 to 10, 2019.

Launched in 2006 by the Association des étudiants en traduction de l’Université de Montréal (AÉTUM), the Translation Games are an opportunity for hundreds of participants from several Canadian universities to push their limits and celebrate translating as a profession. The competition tests their speed, thoroughness and creativity.

This year, Université de Montréal’s team, comprised of Xieyu Xiong (captain), Gabrielle Baillargeon-Michaud, Simon Frappier, Isaline Hodecent, Marilyn Morency and Marc-Antoine Villemaire-Quintin, easily came in first in this high-level competition.

The team members were accompanied by Atissa Béland, a translator at TRSB, as well as a lecturer and proofreader at the university’s Département de linguistique et de traduction. Congratulations to these brilliant students!

TRSB is proud to take part in expanding the translation program at Université de Montréal, its founding president’s alma mater, by granting four Awards for Excellence every year since 2017 to students completing undergraduate and graduate degrees in translation.
